What CountOn2 News is for
A general-interest newsroom covering world affairs, politics, business, technology, science and culture — published continuously, written for people who want to understand a story rather than just hear that it happened.
CountOn2 News exists because the gap between “something happened” and “here is what it means” has never been wider. Feeds are faster than ever and context is scarcer than ever. Our job is to close that gap: to report what is verifiably true, explain why it matters, and be honest about what we still do not know.
How we work
The desk runs around the clock. Reporters and editors file original work, monitor primary sources — filings, transcripts, official statements, court records — and track the wire for developing stories. Every piece is read by a second person before it publishes, and every piece carries a byline so you know who stands behind it.
When a story develops, we update the original article rather than quietly replacing it. Substantive changes are timestamped, and where a change alters the meaning of what we previously published, we say so at the foot of the piece.
Sourcing and credit
Where a story is built on reporting first published elsewhere, the article says so and links out to the original. We would rather send you to the source than pretend the work was ours. Every editor on the desk reviews a piece before it goes live.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we want to know quickly. Write to the desk via our contact page with the headline, the URL and what you believe is inaccurate. Verified errors are corrected on the page itself with a dated note; significant errors are also flagged at the top of the article.
Funding and independence
We are funded by readers and advertising. Commercial partners have no access to editorial planning and no influence over coverage. Any sponsored content is labelled as such, is produced separately from the newsroom, and never appears under a reporter’s byline.

The four rules we hold to
- Accuracy before speed
- A story goes out when we can stand behind it. If that means being second, we are happy to be second.
- Show the sourcing
- Where reporting originates elsewhere, we say so and link to it. Readers should always be able to trace a claim back to its origin.
- Correct in public
- Mistakes get fixed on the page they appeared on, with a note explaining what changed and when.
- Independence
- No advertiser, sponsor or subject of coverage sees a story before publication or has any say in what we publish.
