Across parts of Africa, millions lifted their eyes skywards this Wednesday to observe a rare celestial event: a partial solar eclipse. Also, Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema hopes for a second term in Thursday’s elections. Hs main rival says it's been a tough campaign, in part because of deliberate obstruction from the government. Finally, Nigerian drivers are increasingly turning to electric vehicles as the country grapples with a decades-long fuel crisis, but challenges remain.
